Hot’Gz, founded in 2004 by JayO, began as a group of friends and family from Upstate New York who played ball together. A year after the birth of this talented group of athlete’s JayO began experimenting in rap music. JayO recalls being introduced to the idea by his cousin Xq. He didn’t know this “experiment” would grow into a serious appetite. “The music just became my best friend… I could talk about anything I was seeing in my life,” says the young artist.              

 

            About three years later JayO was introduced to the skinny, geeky, skateboarding musician Upstate has come to know as K-Wise. Yes it’s true the two haven’t been working together a full year, but their chemistry doesn’t show it. K-Wise Recalls, “We met up down block in Hudson at about 1 or 2 in the morning and had the first 4 tracks for the mixtape by noon the next day.” Wise is a monster in his own. This 21yr old perfectionist makes beats, sings, raps, and engineers his own music. Together they became the face for the Hot’G takeover on the music front.         

 

            “What we do is make music that anyone can relate to no matter who you are…of course we’re two dudes so we have to speak to the ladies but most importantly we’re two young men dealing with the same drama and dreams as the next.” The two dream of making an impact on music in a broad sense not only hip hop. Mainly bringing the crown back to New York the true home for the lyricist!
